The Zoo

The kids and I decided to venture back to the Zoo without Caleb. My girlfriend Lindsey came with us and it was a busy day for the Oregon Zoo. It was the only Saturday without rain that we have had in awhile, so we were not the only family who decided to go see the animals. We walked until our feet fell off, and then walked more. I think my double stroller in pointless most of the time because both kids want to walk all the time now. It becomes more of a huge storage area than anything else. But we had fun and I am really glad we went.
 Here we are watching the polar bears play with their ball. They got right up to the glass and Shelby thought it was hilarious. Calvin is starting to look where I point, but not always very well. Luckily these bears were close so he got to see them.
 Every kid needs to each a snow cone when it's hot outside. Shelby loves ice, so this was an instant hit. She got that nasty syrup all down her shirt and skirt.

 My favorite zoo animal, the giraffe. Not sure why, I just love these guys!
Calvin (not wearing pants) was walking around everywhere. Even on the uneven grass. He's getting pretty good at this walking thing.

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
