Family beach day

We woke up this morning and decided the weather was nice and it was time to head to the beach. We started off by hitting up the Newport Aquarium. It was pretty full of people, but my Groupon made it so we could skip the hour long line and go straight inside. Thank you Groupon!

The kids loved the fish swimming all around them in the tunnels. They were glued to the glass and did not want to leave.
 Here's the reaction we got when we told them it was time to move on......


 We got in trouble for my kids splashing, climbing rocks, banging on the glass. Basically every thing the signs said NOT to do, my kids did.

Then it was off to the beach. The sun was out and it was about 68 degrees in town. Too bad it was very windy and we had to wear coats to stay warm. It was beautiful. We just ran around and laid in the sand until we were covered in it. The sounds of the ocean is very relaxing. It was fun to see Calvin exploring the sand and trying to eat it. Shelby runs straight for the ocean and wants to get wet, regardless of the freezing temperatures. Caleb goes in with her. He will do anything that his little girl tells him to.

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
