7 Year Anniversary

Image
Caleb and I just got home from celebrating our anniversary at the coast. We stayed at the http://www.salishan.com/ Salishan Spa & Golf Resort just past Lincoln City by Siletz Bay. Our room overlooked the bay and it was beautiful. We got to eat some greasy food for lunch at Mo's. Then we checked into our room and got ready for our spa day. The spa was wonderful. We had a couples massage, soaked in a beautiful whirlpool that overlooked the bay. We saw a beautiful sunset and watched two bald eagles fly around and catch some fish. After that, we had dinner at the Steakhouse in the hotel. The dinner was so good! We had dessert and just sat and talked for hours. Our room had a nice view and a fireplace and we both got to sleep in until 10 am. No kids to wake us up! Caleb probably would have slept much longer, but I wanted play. We came home to happy kids too! They stayed with my parents and my brother Roger. They were very well behaved and slept better for my brother than they

Miller Family Pictures

My siblings all got together for the first time in a few years and we got an updated family picture. It's not very often that we get together and spend time as a family like this. My brother Ryan doesn't come around very much, so it's hard to get a family picture. It was very nice to have all of us together again. Ryan was pretty funny, and competitive with cards. He's always liked to win, and that's what makes him a Miller. He likes to win so much, that he cheated with Caleb. Now, Caleb cheats at cards almost all the time. But my brother Ryan- he should know better! My brother Roger is engaged to Angela, who we really like. Nobody has really told her that our family is crazy yet, and you better not either. We like to hide that until after the vows are exchanged. For now, we just smile and nod. Rhoda came with her 5 kids and hubby Trevor. Her kids are Logan (12), Cassidy (10), Paige (8), Brynlee (6), and Kenady (3). Rhoda's family was a little sick so they c

Calvin update

Mr. Calvin has been through quite a bit the last month. We went to see a pediatric neurosurgeon in Portland, Dr. Kongel in early March. The doctor reviewed Calvin's MRI in great detail with Caleb and I. He showed us that Calvin's ventricles are twice the size they should be due to all of the extra fluid that is in his head. The doctor did a lot of tests and spent about 45 minutes with us and taking a very accurate history. He is an amazing doctor and we are very lucky to have someone so attentive. Here's the short of what's going on: Fluid normally moves around the head and then exits and is reabsorbed back into the body. In Calvin's case, the fluid is not exiting fast enough. We aren't sure if the extra pressure is causing pain for Calvin, he is very happy and doesn't seem to be bothered by it. We really aren't sure if the pressure is causing damage to his spinal column either, and that makes us a little nervous. We hate to have Calvin undergo an unnec
