Calvin updates

Calvin had his baby blessing on August 1st. We had a bunch of friends and family come to church with us to share the moment. He has the cutest little outfit that his Auntie Michelle bought for him.

Calvin also had his 2 month check up. He has almost doubled his weight (so much for being a small kid). He started out 6 lbs 15 oz and he now weighs 13 lbs 8 oz.  He grew another 4.5" in height. And his head takes after his sisters. It's just like hers now, off the charts for size. It's not quite as big as Shelby's was at his age, but he's catching her pretty quick.


We have been enjoying the summer together as a family. The blessing with Caleb not passing his boards is that we have a lot of time together. Caleb has been busy riding mountain bikes, fishing, working on his motorcycle, projects around our house, and remodeling his parents house.



I have been taking the kids to the park, hanging out with friends and family, and trying to get used to having two kids. I still feel like I'm not ready to take both kids out in public for very long. I don't have a double stroller, so that means I carry Calvin and push Shelby. Simple things like running into the store to buy milk feels much harder. I usually go to the expensive stores that have the cute car in front of the grocery cart so that Shelby is more entertained.


Shelby's hair and personality are getting crazier by the day....

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere. June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Thanksgiving 2022

We came back to Sunriver with the Bingham's again for Thanksgiving weekend. This year we even convinced the Olsen's to join us. We got a sick house that fit us all perfectly. The weather was cold but sunny so we went for walks every day. It was too cold for bike rides. We did the typical Sunriver activities including eating a ton of food, playing games, and watching football all day. The kids went to K1 racing and raced go karts, which is a new favorite activity. Even Shelby loves it and it's hard to find activities she wants to do with us like that. I think we will definitely keep coming back each year as long as we can.
