Texas girl trip

This last week I took off to Dallas Texas with two girlfriends to go on a girls trip. The same girls I went with to NYC last year, we decided to try something low key and totally new. None of us had been to Texas and the play Hamilton was going to be there the same time we were able to go on our trip. We booked the trip, met up once to talk about places to go and mostly places to eat, and never thought too much about it. It ended up being exactly what I needed right now. Just a low key trip where we could sleep in a little, stay up all night laughing, get lots of shopping in, eat things like cupcakes and hamburgers and fries for breakfast. We had a blast. Some of my highlights below.

The best pie EVER at Emporium Pies! And our waitress was so adorable, Stacy had all the Southern Charm!

Started it off with pedicures, then a 90 minute massages a few days later

Amazing shopping, best cupcakes ever, and we may have tried almost every flavor....

Cute little garden area that gives me hope of growing a green thumb in my future 

Did you know Dr Pepper was created in Waco Texas? Me either, but we went to the location and had some fresh amazing drinks in a cute diner style shop

Hamilton was amazing. I loved it.

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
