I had a speaking engagement for work scheduled in Chicago, so I decided to bring my sister with me and make it a party. Rhoda had her nursing boards to study for while I was attending the conference, and then we did touristy things in the evening. We extended the trip and stayed to hang out and get to see the city. We both fell in love with Chicago! There was so many amazing places to eat, places to visit, and things to see.

The buildings are all so tall. It's hard to capture in a picture but they were gorgeous! 

The pier was amazing. Lights and water fountains at night, fireworks every weekend, and it came alive with people all day and all night long. So cool!

Had to get our Boboa tea to cool down. It was so humid!

On top of a bus tour learning more about the city. Classic Chicago sign with my gorgeous sis!

Our feet hurt after walking so much. Pedicures for the win!

Had to get some deep dish pizza. It was good and so filling.

On the boat tour I had to get a picture of this cool building that has a Chicago map on the side of it.

On the architecture boat tour. We learned so much about how this city was created.

Eating dinner down on the water. This restaurant had a bunch of cool games inside!

You can't tell but there are hundreds of people making the city come alive every night, waiting for the fireworks.

We spent a day in China town eating good Thai food and buying Pokemon toys for the kids

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
