Shelby starts preschool

Shelby has been counting down the day for preschool all summer. She never mentioned school last year, but this year she has been begging to go. She is going to Sprague High School where they have a little tots program. It's great because the high school students are obsessed with the kids. They are almost as excited to play with the kids all day as the kids are. Shelby couldn't get ready fast enough and we were 15 minutes early to school. She argued with me over her clothes because she wanted to wear her Halloween costume and I didn't want her to. We settled on an outfit that she got to pick out. She rarely matches and doesn't care at all, and I'm trying to be better about not caring too. Caleb for sure doesn't care if she matches and that's probably because he doesn't even match half the time either. Anyway, she did really good at school except for one thing. She really had to go to the bathroom. And not #1. She had to poop so bad but she didn't want to do it at school. She talked about it all day with her teacher and that's about all Shelby told me after school was over too. Next time, I hope she uses the bathroom before she goes to school so she can relax and have fun. She's such a funny kid. I guess public bathrooms are not her thing.

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
