Shelby is three!

My darling daughter is growing up so fast. Shelby turned 3-years-old and is a bundle of energy and sass! We had a last minute party for her and threw together some food and decor. I was sick and couldn't do anything to help, but my family pitched in and made it happen. Caleb and my family threw the whole party as I sat around and watched and laughed.


 Shelby was very spoiled by her grandma Wendy. She got her this wonderful hair and dress from the movie Tangled. Shelby is pretty sure she is Rapunzel now. She asks for the hair, dress, and shoes all the time for dress up. She slept in it the first night and wore it to day care the next day.
 She got a matching doll and sang songs to it and danced
 We brought a mirror for her to see herself. She just sang, danced and entertained the whole room. We recorded it and it's hilarious. She is so funny.
 Even Kenady got a chance to dress up as Rapunzel. She is so cute and waited for her turn. As soon as Shelby asked for the hair back, she politely returned it. How do I get a kid that kind?
 They each got a doll and there was lots and lots of hair brushing to be done

Kids really do grow up too fast. But it's so fun to watch them learn new things and show more of their personality. So far we know Shelby likes to have things a certain way. She doesn't like change and once she sees something a certain way, she wants it to always be that way. She rarely walks anywhere and usually runs or bounces. She makes lots of funny faces all the time. She is a great big sister and keeps Calvin entertained and out of trouble. She is bossy like her mom. She is playful like her dad. And best of all, she is all ours!

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere. June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j
