Calvin is 10

Calvin had the big double digits birthday this year. He wanted to have a bike party with all his friends. Since we are in a Covid state of mind, we weren't sure if anyone would want to send their kids over to play on our bike track at our house. We also wanted to take the kids to the bike park near our house for an extra fun time. 

Calvin is getting pretty good at using computers and figuring out all technology. He is constantly helping me with my computer work and his siblings. He wants to be on electronics all hours of the day, so we definitely have to watch him to get him to get up and move and limit his time. He is very social and wants to have friends over all the time. He is great at meeting new kids and making connections with kids around him. He also is very willing to invite himself over to other peoples house without me knowing. He hates sharing a room with his brother Ronin and they have a love hate relationship for sure. He gets along with him most of the time but every day they have at least one battle between them. Calvin doesn't love to read like Shelby does, but he loves to play games. He is always getting games out of the closet and convincing us to play something together as a family. He got a new bike for his birthday so he can do cooler jumps at the bike park, or so I am told. He is a lot more willing to try big jumps than I thought he would be. He is a smuggler and a hugger and is the first kid to notice if someone is having a bad day and go to help them out. He wants to solve world poverty and homelessness and is always thinking of ways they can create shelter and food to keep people safe. He likes our dog and goats, but not nearly as much as he likes our cat. He is always trying to get me to let it come inside, but I can't handle one more thing in our tiny house. School seems to come pretty naturally for him and he doesn't have many struggles other than his sight. His vision is still not much improved and we wonder if he will ever have good depth perception. We love this kid and his big heart. Happy birthday Calvin!

June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere.
