Shelby turns 6

Shelby has been planning her birthday party for months now, and about three days before her party we went to pick out her cake. She wanted to have a ballerina party with a cake that showed her doing ballet with her face. So after calling around to a bunch of bakeries we found one. We show up, and she sees a Frozen cake and balloons and changes her mind. She decides it has to be Frozen now. Lucky for her, I do everything last minute, so we rolled with it. Five stores later we had what we needed for her party.

She invited her own friends this time and it was the first party we didn't make it all adults and family members. We had her party at Get Air and she had lots of great friends and family show up.

Shelby has grown up so much this past year. She loves to draw, practice letters, read words, do math problems on the shower door, and dance. If there is one thing she doesn't do, it's hold still very long. She will dance in the middle of church, in a store, in the car, and at home as much as possible. She is very excited about her new baby brother coming soon and she has been sleeping better than ever. There is something amazing about school five days a week because she is toast and can't stay up all night anymore.

Calvin had a bad day

I got a call at work from Krista, the lady who watches my kids. She said Calvin fell and hit his lip and probably needed stitches. I picked up my purse and ran out of work as quick as I could. I was on hold for 15 minutes trying to reach his doctor, which was aggravating. But once they answered I was at Krista's door and could see what was going on. Calvin was playing in a bedroom, tripped, and fell onto the frame of the bunkbed. Which is metal by the way. The sharp edge of it too. Poor kid always falls, but usually it's the forehead that gets the brunt of it. This time it was his lip. The upper part of his gums really. You can see most of the cut here: We finally reached his doctor and took him in. They didn't give him stitches even though it was still bleeding. It's been 8 hours now and it still bleeds when he talks, eats or drinks anything. It has not stopped him from doing his sound effects for cars and trucks so he spits blood everywhere. June was the craziest month I have had in a long time. I am soooo glad it's July! Caleb almost didn't graduate on time and had to pay for summer term. He had one crown that he had to do twice because the lab kept messing it up. The school finally notified us three weeks after graduation that he was OK to graduate and could come checkout. We found out Caleb didn't pass his boards completely and now gets to fly down to California in August to re-do part of it. He has to fly two different patients down too with him, once he finds them. Hopefully he can find one patient that needs both procedures to help save costs. His job in Eugene didn't workout since he didn't pass his boards. They needed someone to start immediately, so they gave it to someone else. The company, Capital Dental, still considers him employed and is keeping his contract. So he still has work, we just have no idea where it will be right now. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to this house we j
