We heard there was going to be freezing rain but Caleb had already scheduled to work in Medford over the weekend for a good friend. He had to leave early Friday and get down there to work all day Saturday which had been in the works for a month. So when they predicted a storm we figured they would be wrong as usual anyway. Caleb left and it was already starting to get pretty icy but the storm was coming from the North so we figured he would be fine. At around 10 pm that Friday night, the major ice started. It was positively frigid outside and we started hearing branches breaking all around our house. We live under hundreds of trees it feels like. We have white oak trees everywhere and there are two huge ones that tower over our tiny house. Shelby came into my room with me and we could not sleep because of the storm.  How did Caleb turn 40 just now? I mean, he still looks like he's 29 and has no gray hair. He still shreds at the mountain and has energy all day. He rides bikes all the time with teenagers. He still watches South Park and laughs hysterically. He can still quote movies from his childhood and memorizes new movies after only watching them once. He can still sleep allllllll day long, I mean really, all day... We decided to head up to Leavenworth. It's a cute little German town in Washington. Our friends couldn't go at the last minute, so we decided to take our snowboards instead of snowshoes. Most of the mountains were sold out at the last minute, but we found one that was open so we went just the two of us. It's called Mission Ridge and it actually was pretty nice for being a smaller place. It was a Saturday and there were no long lines, and the powder was nice. It was really dry snow and kind of sunny until lunch. We ate at the mountain and had the best burgers ever for ...

 We stopped buying gifts for all our extended family and started doing trips instead. We decided to go back to Sunriver again. We had so much fun last year. And it's hard to book anything with all the Covid restrictions. Not to mention we had to wait for Rhoda and Trevors work schedule, Logan and Chase to make holiday plans, Cassidy's flight schedule for her mission return, and then find a place that was open. So basically we could only find two houses in Oregon that we wanted to go to and they were both in Sunriver. After we looked into activities, most of what we did last year was closed due to Covid. But we still made the most of it. Sledding, lots of games, way too much food, shopping, and just being with each other. I love my sister and her family so much. It makes me so happy to spend time with them. First we all went snowboarding and skiing together for a day, then to Sunriver for three days.
