Trying to stand up

Image
She loves to hold herself up and stand now. She is so proud of herself when she can climb up things and stand up. The view must be better up there.

My Mothers Day

Image
Shelby learned how to clap for me on moms day. We were sitting in church and she just started clapping. We had been working on it all week and it finally paid off. She clapped all day long whenever said YEAH!!! It was the perfect gift.

6 months old and growing

Image
Little Shelby Lu is not so little anymore. We had her 6 month check up and she is maintaining her large head and weight. She's not growing very tall, but look at the genes she has! She got to start eating food and we started her with sweet peas. She basically hates it, but has fun spitting it all over the place. She's 18.5 pounds ~ in the 87th percentile Her height is 26 inches ~ the 50th percentile Her head is 18 1/4 inches ~ still off the charts She already goes from sitting, to down on her hands and knees, and back to sitting up. She props up on furniture and stands all the time too. She can't pull herself to standing, but if we help, she is happy to be up there. She loves to go in swings at the park and pull out grass.

Easter Doll

Image
Shelby had a wonderful first Easter. We went with friends to their grandparents house and had a Mexican style Easter party. It was awesome. Amazing food, tons of eggs stuffed with confetti that we smashed on each others heads, a ton of people and lots of dessert. What more could she ask for? Thanks Josh for letting us crash your family party!

Making her dad proud

Shelby has fallen in love with brushing her teeth. She gets so excited when she sees the tooth brush coming her way. Caleb is pretty sure that I should brush her teeth each time she eats. I think we all know that's never going to happen. I don't even brush my own teeth that much.

Fifth Anniversary

Image
Our anniversary was spent at the Oregon coast with friends and our sweet little girl Shelby. We decided to rent a condo with our friends Josh and Lindsey. We stayed for three nights. We had a nice hot tub on the back porch, a swim pool indoors, and a full kitchen in our room. The boys went crabbing and Lindsey and I stayed in the room and watched a chick flick. We went out to dinner, walked on the freezing cold beach, went shopping and hung out.  Family picture at the beach After we got back to Portland, Caleb and I went out to Esan's for a nice adult dinner. Josh and Lindsey watched Shelby so we could spend some time together to officially celebrate the anniversary. We had a great time and it was fun to celebrate year five!

Homemade sweater

Caleb's patient in dental school brought us the cutest gift last week. His wife made us this sweater for Shelby. I love it and thought it was so sweet. We took pictures to send back as a thank you card. I need to learn how to make things!
