Snow in February 2011

Image
February was an eventful month for my kids heads. We had some beautiful snow fall and Shelby could not wait to go play in the snow. We played here at the house and then she went to Krista's house while I went to work. Shelby loves to play with Krista's kids and when the snow started coming down again she went to RUN outside and play. She missed her step, crash landed on the back deck, and split her lip open. She ended up with a bruised and swollen face for a few days. Poor girl. She just wanted to play in the snow! Here is a picture of our house and also a picture of the cookies that Caleb spun in our street. He was pretty proud of himself.

Date night!

Caleb and I decided in 2010 we were kind of lame as a couple. We were awesome parents, but not very cool as a married couple. It seems like everything we do is about the kids, school, or work. We get our play time too, but it's not together like it used to be. We used to go snowboarding, wakeboarding, bike riding, play tennis, softball and volleyball...... Now, if we do those things, we have to tag-team. We don't do very many things at the same time. We go to the driving range to hit some golf balls and we just pass the kids to the other one and then go hit. That's not a lot time for us to talk to each other and just take time and enjoy our sports and outdoor time. So this year, we have made it a priority. We are going out on one date every week. One week we even made it out to two dates. So far we have gone out to dinner, the movies, gone dancing, gone out for desert, gone shopping as adults should, and gone out with new friends. My brother Roger has been a huge support

Bye bye love, bye bye happiness

Hello loneliness, I think I'm gonna cry....... OK, so I actually can't stand Roy Orbison. But that song is stuck in my head this month. My darling husband has taken a job down in Medford. Which means, it's the Renae show during the week. I know I'm not very grateful and I'm trying to be better. No better reminder on how much Caleb does for us than having him gone. He's living with some friends during the week and home on the weekends. He's not working full-time yet, so that's a blessing. The weekends are long and he gets to watch the kids while I work. He really does take good care of us when he's here. Shelby misses him and asks for him every night. He always puts Shelby to bed and I put Calvin to bed. We have our little routine and now it's just off. We always do family prayer together and then he finishes Shelby's routine. I apparently can't do anything right according to Shelby. I brushed her teeth wrong (gotta brush the tongue!),
